Where is the accommodation?

Most LA delegates will be staying at the Hayes Conference Centre. All the rooms are en-suite, most are twin bedded for single occupancy, similar to Travel Lodge but no TV!

How does the free taxi share scheme work?

If you travel by train to Derby, then we run free taxis to the Hayes (from about 10am until 11.30) on the first day and return taxis at 15.20 on day 2. The journey takes about 25 minutes so try and plan your return train for 4pm or later.

Is there any special dress code?

Not really, just smart casual.

I would like to attend more than one workshop in the session, can I access the information for the one I miss?

After the event, we post most of the slides from the workshops on this website and you can download them free of charge.

I am thinking that next year I would like to run a session on some work we are doing, how do I go about this?

The first thing is to contact your regional commissioning group if you have one, or the regional rep on the conference organising group, or failing that email martin(at)ncctc.co.uk. If your session fits within the theme and is chosen you will get two free places at the event. We are here to help as the sharing of your work is key to the success of this event.

Can I recommend a speaker or workshop for next year?

Yes – first thing is to contact your regional commissioning group if you have one, or the regional rep on the conference organising group, or failing that email martin(at)ncctc.co.uk.

Our region does not have a rep for the organising group, if I were to volunteer what is involved?

The regional reps are key to the success of the event. The job involves promoting the event to your region, asking for workshops, and chasing for the information. We have two meetings, both held just off the M5 south of Birmingham in Droitwich, and ideally we would like you to attend both but a least one. As the regional rep you get a free place at the event!

We would like to attend but July is a difficult time for us, can it be held at a different time?

Yes, we do move it around the calendar but get in touch and we will respond. We try and avoid school holidays.

(if this gets asked a lot or we think it would be beneficial to more people we will add it to the faqs)
